How do I get help from the DLT?

Our team helps in situations where we are directly requested by a community leader or community partner. We will reach out to that person directly for more information and then make contact. Once we assess the situation and have team members who can assist, we schedule an in-person visit with the community members.

Who do you help?

We help any community who is in need of our help and who requests our help.

Do you help financially?

We are a team of volunteers with the exception of our Executive Director, and we are unable to provide financial support to communities. Instead we provide information and guidance on how to raise funds to assist a community raise funds to rebuild and recover.

Can your team members be trusted?

We receive recommendations for team members through recovery organizations who have worked with community’s affected by disaster. Recommendations also come through board and team members. Once someone is recommended to become a team member, they go through a rigorous interview process to make sure they are who they say they are and have the expertise to make a difference in a community.

Financial Statement

The Disaster Leadership Team is committed to applying donations responsibly and as efficiently as possible. Our team of volunteers donate their time and we seek donations to get them to locations to meet discovery leaders face-to-face when possible. Your contributions mean that we can help the people who need it and we take that job very seriously.
