The Disaster Leadership Team provides support, mentoring, and long term recovery guidance to local leaders whose communities have experienced natural or manmade disasters.
Team member and disaster veteran Christine Files (Bastrop, TX) approached Mennonite Disaster Service (MDS) to bring together disaster leaders they had worked with from across the region. In September 2016, the group met and shared experiences and stories. It was evident this group was filled with strong, determined leaders who were ready to help other communities facing the long road of disaster recovery.
Meet our Team
Tornadoes, wildfires, floods, mudslides, and hurricanes, the Disaster Leadership Team members are available to help communities establish the infrastructure needed for disaster recovery. We want to be there to support others who are facing the unbelievable obstacles and challenges that accompany disaster.
We are ready to listen, advise & connect. If your community needs guidance on where to go or what to do next, we can help. Our Executive Director will get in touch with an available team member who will begin to assist you through a face to face (dependent on travel restrictions).
